British Sea Power to play gig on an island

British Sea Power are to play a special gig on Canvey Island, Essex, this week.

The band will play the 200-capacity Monico Hotel on Thursday (February 7), and is being hosted by Canvey Island Football Club.

There is a connection - the band’s song ‘Canvey Island’ mentions how football records were lost during the Canvey flood of 1953.

Tickets for the show are onsale now, via the hotel itself or through Wegottickets.com.

The gig is being filmed for BB2’s ‘Culture Show’, and will start at 8.30mpm (GMT) prompt.
