Dave Clarke Loves Techno

October 19th, 2007 by admin

(Amsterdam, NL) - (Gent, BE) -Dave Clarke is one of the most famous techno DJs in the world, so this hook-up with the infamous I Love Techno event for a 20-track compilation of the best in dark electronics is good news for everyone. Such good news, in fact, that old Mr Clarke may even crack a smile…no, maybe not.

When all’s said and done, it’s all about the music, and a Dave Clarke DJ set rarely disappoints - beats are cut-up and mixed with ease, and the thunderous techno is mixed in with occasional touches of Chicago house, booty bass and even the odd alternative track. In his twenty-odd years in the business, he’s learnt a lot (and indeed taught others a few tricks, like on his much-imitated Red series), so when Dave Clarke gets together with one of techno’s biggest festivals to put a compilation together, everyone’s listening with bated breath…

Indeed, any big techno event is almost incomplete these days without Dave Clarke hosting a room, a stage or a tent. For example, at Saturday 10 November’s I Love Techno event - which will be held at the Flanders Expo in Ghent, Belgium - Clarke will host the Red room (see what they did there?) where he’ll play on a bill that includes Adam Beyer, Len Faki, Redshape (live) and the British Murder Boys to finish.

The I Love Techno gig is sure to be a good place to get a taste of the forthcoming mix, which contains new releases from The Advent, Joey Beltram and Fastgraph, as well as Joris Voorn’s unreleased remix of Kevin Saunderson’s classic track, Bassline. In just 20 tracks, Dave Clarke provides us with a great snapshot of the wonderful world of modern techno - so get dancing!
